Meeting minutes from Qt Release Team meeting 27th February 2018

Qt 5.11 status:
- Alpha released
- API review ongoing, see
http://lists.qt-project.org/pipermail/development/2018-February/032179.html
- 2 P0 issues open in blocker list. But those are really RC blockers, not
blocking beta 1
->Beta1 content should be in place now
- Target is to release Beta1 during this week & continue releasing new betas
regularly until we are ready for RC
 * RC blocker list here: https://bugreports.qt.io/issues/?filter=19209

Qt 5.9.5 status:
- First binary snapshot for RTA from '5.9' already created
- Target is to get release out during March
--> we should start branching from '5.9' -> '5.9.5' during this week & finalize
it at the beginning of week 11

[17:00:56] <jaheikki3> Time to start qt release team meeting
[17:01:01] <jaheikki3> On agenda today:
[17:01:06] <jaheikki3> Qt 5.11 status
[17:01:11] <jaheikki3> Qt 5.9.5 status
[17:01:20] <jaheikki3> Any additional item to the agenda?
[17:02:20] <jaheikki3> Lets start from Qt 5.11 status:
[17:02:43] <jaheikki3> Alpha released ~ a week ago
[17:02:55] <jaheikki3> First beta 1 snapshot available
[17:03:30] <jaheikki3> API review also ongoing, see
http://lists.qt-project.org/pipermail/development/2018-February/032179.html
[17:04:25] <jaheikki3> There is 2 P0 issues open but in my opinion those aren't
blocking the beta1 but RC
[17:04:46] <jaheikki3> See https://bugreports.qt.io/issues/?filter=19206
[17:05:36] <jaheikki3> So according to my understanding we should have beta1
content in place & we could put beta1 out already during this week
[17:06:02] <jaheikki3> And after that continue releasing new betas regularly
until we are ready for RC
[17:06:14] <jaheikki3> RC blocker list here:
https://bugreports.qt.io/issues/?filter=19209
[17:06:37] <jaheikki3> Any comments or questions?
[17:07:18] <ankokko__> sounds good to me
[17:09:06] <jaheikki3> OK,great. That's all about Qt 5.11 status at this time.
[17:09:15] <jaheikki3> Then Qt 5.9.5 status:
[17:09:30] <jaheikki3> Target is to get release out during March
[17:09:59] <jaheikki3> To be able to do that we need to start branching from
'5.9' to '5.9.5' already during this week
[17:10:43] <jaheikki3> That way we could finalize branching at the beginning of
week 11 & so on have enough time to finalize release in '5.9.5' branch
[17:11:31] <jaheikki3> We have also created first binary snapshot for RTA from
'5.9'
[17:12:05] <jaheikki3> But that's all about Qt 5.9.5 at this time. Any comments
or questions?
[17:12:36] <ankokko__> +1 for that plan from me
[17:13:06] <frkleint> sounds like a plan..
[17:13:35] <frkleint> thiago: Around,..are you on top of the API ewview
findings?
[17:13:41] <frkleint> or peppe's nags, rather..
[17:14:54] <jaheikki3> Ok, this was all at this time
[17:15:34] <jaheikki3> I am on winter vacation next week so let's skip the
meeting & have next one Tue 13th March at this same time
[17:15:47] <jaheikki3> Thanks for your participation!
[17:15:49] <jaheikki3> bye!
[17:15:53] <frkleint> bye
[17:16:00] <ankokko__> bye
