Hi all,

There were a mistake in my minutes: Second heading is of course '6.1.0 status'.
Sorry about that!

Jani

Meeting minutes from Qt Release Team meeting Tue 2nd February 2021

Qt 6.0.1 status:
* Release content finally frozen.
* Release packages created and final testing ongoing.
* We will release Qt 6.0.1 later this week

Qt 6.0.1 status:
* Feature freeze in effect
* Branching not done yet.
   * Qt5.git integrations proceeding ok now so can start branching
* Branching from 'dev' to '6.1' will happen wed 3rd February
* Publishing snapshot delayed due to problems in CI infra & mirroring issues in
download.qt.io
** All these should be solved now and we should be able to publish a
snapshot later this week
* Qt 6.1 Alpha target tue 9th February

Qt 5.15.3 commercial release:
- As informed earlier Qt 5.15.3 will be commercial release only
- Official release target is still 17th February
   * Unfortunately it seems to be unrealistic due to current ci backlog
--> Target is to get the release out during February
   * Official plan will be updated when CI backlog cleared

Next meeting tue 9th February 2021 16:00 CET

br,
Jani Heikkinen

[17:01:24] <carewolf> pong
[17:01:30] <jaheikki3> Time to start Qt release team meeting
[17:01:36] <jaheikki3> On agenda today:
[17:01:39] <jaheikki3> Qt 6.0.1 status
[17:01:47] <jaheikki3> Qt 6.1 status:
[17:01:55] <jaheikki3> Any additional item to the agenda?
[17:01:56] <carewolf> 5.15.3?
[17:02:17] <jaheikki3> Ok, let's discuss about 5.15.3 as well
[17:03:01] <jaheikki3> Lets start from Qt 6.0.1 status
[17:03:17] <jaheikki3> Release content finally frozen
[17:03:23] <jaheikki3> Release packages created and final testing ongoing
[17:03:50] <jaheikki3> If nothing really badly broken found we will release Qt
6.0.1 later this week
[17:04:15] <jaheikki3> Most probably already tomorrow but let's see we can make
that happen or not
[17:04:36] <jaheikki3> That's all about Qt 6.0.1 status. Any comments or
questions?
[17:06:15] <jaheikki3> Ok, then Qt 6.1 status:
[17:06:36] <jaheikki3> Feature freeze done
[17:07:00] <jaheikki3> But branching from 'dev' to '6.1' not done yet
[17:07:14] <jaheikki3> qt5.git integrations proceeding ok now so can start
branching
[17:07:34] <jaheikki3> SobBranching from 'dev' to '6.1' will happen tomorrow
[17:07:54] <jaheikki3> Publishing snapshot delayed due to problems in CI infra
& mirroring issues in download.qt.io
[17:08:11] <jaheikki3> All these should be solved now and we should be able to
publish a snapshot later this week
[17:08:38] <jaheikki3> And target is to publish Qt 6.1 Alpha 9th February 2021
[17:08:58] <jaheikki3> That's all about 6.1 at this time. Any comments or
questions?
[17:09:00] <carewolf> and did you remove qtwebsockets and qtwebchannel for the
schedule again? Turns out I had the wrong target in mind
[17:09:03] <carewolf> from
[17:09:53] <jaheikki3> carewolf: I'll move those to Qt 6.2 one soon
[17:09:58] <carewolf> great
[17:10:06] <jaheikki3> But mentally removed those already ;D
[17:11:20] <jaheikki3> And finally Qt 5.15.3
[17:11:59] <jaheikki3> As informed earlier Qt 5.15.3 will be commercial release
only
[17:12:14] <jaheikki3> Plan is to get it out during February
[17:12:38] <carewolf> I would argue for late february as we still have a long
CI backlog
[17:13:14] <jaheikki3> Yeah, that 's most probably the case
[17:14:00] <jaheikki3> Original target was 17th February but based on
discussions with Tarja (she is release managing 5.15) it is unrealistic
[17:14:47] <jaheikki3> She hasn't updated the official plan yet but promised to
do it immediately after ci is working OK
[17:15:38] <jaheikki3> But as already written it seems releasing Qt 5.15.3 will
be ~ at the end of February
[17:16:49] <jaheikki3> That's pretty much all what I know from Qt 5.15.3 status
now. Any more comments or questions?
[17:19:57] <jaheikki3> It was all at this time so let's end this meeting now &
have new one Tue 9th February at this same time
[17:20:14] <jaheikki3> Thanks for your participation, bye!
[17:20:18] <carewolf> bye
[17:20:53] <frkleint> bye
