Title: RE: What causes more religious strife: Government bodiespostingtheTen Commandments, or courts ordering their removal?
There is an interesting poll at

Most of it tests popular support for George Bush and his policies.  I want to draw your attention to Question 9d (I think it is) that asks people to describe themselves religiously.  A full 23% describe themselves as having "no religion."  There may be some problems with the sample--only 1% identify themsleves as Jewish or Muslim, which seems a trifle (though not very) low--but 23% non-religious seems way too high to be simply an artificat of selection bias.   One will also note that Evangelical Protestants are a distinct, albeit large, minority.
