I run into this problem using a customized 14.04.2 LiveCD using Customizer[1].

That makes the resulting live ISO not very "live" - browsing and all DNS dependent stuff just fails. I've also tried remastersys - same story. Ugly workaround: after booting live iso or after installing a system from it I have to run "sudo dpkg-reconfigure resolvconf " and answer "ok-yes"... and then it's all good.
