I finally got around to looking at the change Ross made to simplify the
adapter/interface handling (see the changeset diff at
http://dev.plone.org/old/collective/changeset/89699/Products.membrane/trunk
). Unfortunately I do not consider this to be a useful improvement since
is still requires you to juggle with multiple registrations if you use
adapters to implement user functionality.
Since I strongly prefer not having to deal with multiple registration
where imho one should suffice I've cut a branch at a point just before
Ross's recent changes, and I'll be using that for my own projects.
I'm willing to help implement any of the proposals that were discusses
last month that do not require the I*Avail interfaces, but until a
consensus on the approach to use has been reached I'll stay away from trunk.
