If there is a universal LUT which works for all the font at all the
size, it will be wonderful.  My observation is that the correction
depends on both factors.  Also, if it is reversed (white text on black
background), the correction curve becomes really gamma-like. That
is gamma <= 1.  Well, I'd say just has the gamma support there is already
a big improvement.

Yes, at 8 points, it is readable, but I won't say it is comfortable.
But after the gamma-like LUT, it is VERY readable.  I just added
another shot which shows the 8 point xterm window after the LUT.
