That's interesting; I haven't seen a lot of Roman text set in vertical 
Chinese documents.  I suspect FreeType doesn't automatically rotate the 
glyphs, nor do I think the TrueType format can direct this particular 
activity.  Sounds like the layout engine has another little task in store...
