The XFree86 4.2.0 driver status document says that my S3 card has
accelerated support. It was supported in 3.3.6, but not 4.0.x or 4.1.0,
but has made it into 4.2.0 again. ( I have a #9 Motion 771 - S3-968 w/
IBM RGB524 RAMDAC ).

my /var/log/XFree0.log contains the entry :

(II) Module s3: vendor="The XFree86 Project"
        compiled for 4.2.0, module version = 0.3.5
        Module class: XFree86 Video Driver
ABI class: XFree86 Video Driver, version 0.5

and also (further down)

(II) Initializing built-in extension RENDER

Yet, when I do xdpyinfo, RENDER is not listed.

Can someone tell me what is going on ? Is RENDER supported or not, or
did I compile XFree86 wrong ?

I am using RedHat 7.2.

Thanks !
