  1. Engineering Manager-Storage:

Responsibilities:
Manage the design, implementation and execution of test scenarios for embedded disk array controller firmware/host array manager software and other solution components. Plan, organize and implement lab and test equipment improvements. Write performance appraisals and manage the careers of multiple engineers. Will manage multiple teams ranging in size from three (3) to twenty (20) test engineers in a matrix management organization bridging up to three (3) physical locations.

Requirements:
A technical management background with a minimum of three (3) years in a managerial position leading small to large teams. Should also have eight (8) to ten (10) years experience testing software and/or developing software. Excellent communication skills and the ability to plan and lead multiple projects while keeping on top of high priority customer issues. Ability to effectively allocate budgets and people resources for multiple projects with aggressive deadlines.

Education:
BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree.

1. Test Engineer Staff-Storage:

Job Description

Responsibilities:

 Scope the test requirements for features planned for future RAID products and defined by the software architect team. This scope will encompasses the interoperability, functional, functional stress, system, system stress, drive, performance, and application test requirements which span multiple operating systems, namely Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003, Solaris (including 2.9), Linux, AIX, IRIX, HP-UX, and NetWare. Prepare Global Test Plan (GTP) and Test Report for different programs. This GTP summarizes the high level test requirements, which map one to one with the program requirement. Also the GTP specifies resources’ requirements, has schedule estimates and program cost estimates for the test effort. Define the Design for Testability (DFT) for the different features and drive those DFT requirements in the features’ implementations carried out by the Software Architect and development team. Support the Product Certification team in resolving test issues which surface during the certification of the program assigned to the test architect.

 
Requirements:

7 or more years of relevant work experience in the Test / Software architecture field. Qualification should include experience in defining test methodology and test strategy for the certification of a RAID system or software product. Also, qualifications should include O/S experience in at least four of the following: Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003, Solaris (2.6 thru 2.9), and Linux (RedHat, SUSE). Operating system experience in two or more of the following: AIX, IRIX, HP-UX, NetWare. Must have programming skills using Windows and UNIX scripts, batch files, C or Java, thorough knowledge and experience in RAID Storage Technology (DAS, and SAN), system logging and log data analysis, Fibre channel knowledge, and basic iSCSI and SATA protocol knowledge. Experience with SAS, Fibre Channel I/O protocol and analyzers, disk array products, related to common applications such as disaster tolerance, Redundancy, Availability, Serviceability, Backup, RVM, MSCS, Veritas products, and software development is a plus.

Responsible for leading a team involved in the validation of storage adapter applications, device drivers, and firmware for various storage technologies including SCSI, SAS, and SATA. Leadership in the creation of test and process automation, manual as well as automated test execution, and the development of software testing deliverables including test requirements, plans, cases, scripts, reports, etc. for assigned projects. Scope, develop, and implement plans to effectively and successfully validate a wide variety of software. Research and implement new, innovative ways of providing quality-testing feedback. Work with software developers in India and the US to ensure that the software is being sufficiently validated. Communicate with software developers in India and the US to resolve issues identified through integration testing. Assist test team members to resolve technical issues as they encounter them.

 

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of software testing and/or software development experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Proven ability to engage and focus staff and project team members on highest priority, highest risk tasks. Must be self-motivated, apply good judgment, and be willing and able to mentor others. Exceptional written and oral communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills are also required. A history of meeting or exceeding aggressive deadlines in time-critical environments, fostering an enjoyable and productive work environment, while still delivering high quality results is a key selection criterion.

Analyze and document code defects and drive closure on those defects. Plan, organize and implement lab and test equipment improvements. Provide guidance to less experienced engineers.

Requirements:

A technical background that includes 4-7 years of practical experience in software/hardware or test development. A concentration in formal software testing is preferred. Qualifications should include OS experience in Windows 2000/XP and/or UNIX variants. Must have programming skills using UNIX scripts and batch files, or C++ or Java. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience with Fibre Channel I/O protocol, enterprise-level disk array products and networking technology is a plus.

Roles & Responsibilities:

 

2-8yrs: Validate standard I/O products and provide technical support for OEM customers. Product validation includes designing a board and
developing software to exercise the product. I/O standard product
silicon is examined at the protocol level (SAS, SCSI, Fibre Channel,
PCI-X, PCI express, etc) and the signal level. Product support
involves helping the customer with the initial integration of the I/O
standard product and debug of any software or hardware issues that
arise. Work with the technical publications group on data manuals,
systems engineering notes, and other documentation support.
Provide training for customers and the Field Application Engineering
organization. Work with the development engineering departments,
hardware and software in debugging and supporting new products.
