1 . Tools & Technologies:
* Expert knowledge of & prior experience with creating installers using Installshield 11.5 on RHEL 4.0
* Expert knowledge of RHEL 4.0 installation, configuration, troubleshooting, scripting and system administration
* JBoss 4.x installation and Configuration
* Oracle 10 G installation, configuration and troubleshooting
* Advanced knowledge of source control using Clearcase
DESIRED skill sets:
1. Experience delivering Installers on Windows, using Installshield 11.5
2. Cognos Installation & Configuration
3. Websphere Installation and Configuration
4. Use of Ant & JUnits
Job Description:
1. Understand the current implementation of product installation and configuration, the components and inter-dependencies.
2. Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve defects per approved defect fix process.
3. Work with geographically distributed groups to extract and define installation & configuration requirements, estimate, design, code, test and deliver features. The 2 most important features will be Patch Installation and Upgrades.
4. Provide inputs for scheduling by estimating and sequencing tasks and identifying dependencies, risks, issues.
5. Provide timely status updates & high quality deliverables on schedule.
6. Participate in creation and review of architecture and design documents, per approved Software Engg. Processes
7. Effectively communicate and partner with team members to troubleshoot problems, identify risks and issues, define options with pros and cons, propose and implement solutions.
