The payments will be monthly with no overtime being provided by the client. * * ** *Estimated Time Frames* July 9, 2007 - December 21, 2007 * * *Position Summary** * Subject Matter Expert for a project replacing an Excel based forecasting and reporting system with a Hyperion Essbase solution. Solution will utilize either Excel add-on or Hyperion Planning for front end. Resource will be responsible for executing detailed design, coding, configuration, testing, and deployment activities. Resource will be responsible for all system interfaces and reporting. Resource must be familiar with and support common project management processes. Resource must become familiar with GM's SDP R10 process and support activities to meet related requirements . Resource must be able to lead technical reviews of deliverables. Candidate will be responsible for obtaining technical and functional understanding of the business processes driving the change. Candidate will be responsible for understanding the current and future IT environments and sustain situations. Candidate will be expected to work closely with both internal and external customers, IT staff, other vendors and other team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. Solutions must be aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with the organization's architectural standards. Candidate will be involved in the full system life cycle. *Specialized / Practical Knowledge* - 10+ years total IT/computer experience with 5+ years related experience - Proven expertise on Hyperion Essbase and Hyperion Planning. Certification preferred. - Expertise with complex Excel-based solutions - Familiar with modeling techniques - such as use case, prototyping, benchmarking, and performance modeling - Experience with hardware sizing for a solution, capacity analysis and verification. - Familiar with code configuration management processes. - Experience with VBA to support Essbase solutions. - Familiar with testing tools, including performance testing tools, such as Rational testing tools, Mercury Test Director and Performance Center - Automotive OEM background or relevant alternate domain experience (GM - SDP, ITIL, and CMMi a plus) - Experience working with Oracle databases - Familiarity with RUP *Management Skills* - Demonstrated leadership skills - Able to lead off-shore resources and others on configuration, testing and deployment activities. Able to ensure that work performed by other project team members meet technical, contractual and SDP requirements - Demonstrates ability to participate in schedule creation activities and manage work load effectively to meet schedule requirements. - Possesses ability to coordinate activities and requirements across multiple technical groups and with internal end-users. - Demonstrates ability to effectively work in a project with multiple vendor involvement. *Interaction* - Interacts directly with GM customer. - Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills. - Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others. May work independently or as a part of a team under general supervision. May coach or mentor junior technical staff. - Lead efforts to obtain approval on architecture solutions, deliverables and testing results - Self-motivated - Ability to execute with minimal direction and effectively communicate regarding issues, risks, etc. that may impact project success - Displays ability to work well with various customers, stakeholders, impacting and impacted groups, understanding customer needs that drive project requirements. *Complexity / Problem Solving* - Work involves a great deal of creativity, perception, and initiative, and decisions are made where clearly established policies or procedures are not fully developed - Extremely high level of analytical ability where problems are very unusual and extremely difficult *Accountability* - Project work accountable to Project Manager. - Responsible for serving as a senior technical resource, understanding client needs, communicating to the team and completing all activities to move the development activity from Construct / Design through to Deploy and Close.
