Someone on this list a while back gave a heads up on some MSR-2000 VHF repeaters for sale through eBay. I was so impressed with what I saw that our local ham group purchased 4 of them! Now that I've had a chance to go through them, and complete the conversion to Amateur use, I am even more impressed. These were removed from service by the Ontario Provincial Police (Canada) when they changed to 800 MHz, and being Canadian, they are low split radios, 136 - 150.8 I believe. Main thing is that they tune up in the Amateur 2 meter band without any modifications, and make full spec doing it. These are 100 watt, continuous duty, with a battery reverting power supply. They have way more option cards than anyone in their right mind would need, and when I got through adapting it for our use, only two cards were left. It does have the PL decode/encode card, but I frankly prefer using a TS-64 instead.
Talking to Richard Gibbons at Bro-Comm-USA, they have 100 more of these coming in, so there ought to be some great deals. We are absolutely delighted with our four. Richard can be contacted at [EMAIL PROTECTED] or you can get more info at their web site, http://www.bro-comm-usa.com The usual disclaimer applies here. I have no interest in Bro-Comm other than being a very satisfied customer. If you're looking for a very nice 2M repeater setup with minimal work to put it on the air, take a look. 73, Army - AE5P Nacogdoches, the oldest town in Texas Your use of Yahoo!
