Dan, ICM does not offer a "ham discount" for one simple reason: The effort and expense of re-crystaling a commercial radio channel element is the same for commercial or Amateur bands. I personally feel that $50 to re-crystal, re-compensate, age, test, and certify a MICOR channel element on a 2m frequency is reasonable. Yes, I do wince a little at the cost ($100) to change frequencies on a MICOR repeater, but that happens so seldom that I have learned to appreciate the precision and stability of ICM products while minimizing the cost.
