Funny. I've had 7 of those "ham toothpicks" in the air for over 10 years at 
7300 feet in the Rockies thru ice and snow with nary a broken fiberglas hair. 
Guess it's all in the way you mount them. All side mounts have an extra PVC 
upper support and the one top mounted at 40 feet has weathered over 15 years 
with 
no problems.
