lee , i had to add an external dual relay tothe ptt circuit on the rc-1000 , the opencollector only switches about 20 ma , so what i did , was tap 5vt off the output of the voltage reg in the controller toa 5 volt reed relat that drives a 12 volt relay to key the tx strip , the dual relay can switch up to a 3 amp load Russ N3TIH
