Can anyone tell me if there is suppose to be any voltages present on
the RLC2 controller at the serial port connection. Here's what is
going on. System has been running fine, as I have been building the
repeater over the last few weeks. It has been powered up by my
Astron 70 amp power supply, no problems. Today, I moved the
repeater out of my workshop into another location in the basement,
and am now using a Pyramid 52 amp power supply. When I went to hook
up my serial line, I got some serious sparks out of the rs232
connection. I took a volt meter across the tx and rx and measured
about 10 volts, and about 1 volt across the tx and ground. Any
ideas. The power supply is providing the voltage to the system at
13 volts. Now I will have to say another strange kritter that I had
happen with this same power supply, is when I mounted it into the
rack, as soon as I hooked up the positive wire to the power supply,
the voltage meter on the power supply went up, hooking the negative
up, and blew all the fuses in the system, but take the Pyramid out
of the rack and it runs the equipment just fine. Any ideas. Thanks.
