I am always for more sensitivity in a repeater but it sometimes depends on
the site and equipment. With a marginal duplexer if you put 10 to 20 db
more gain in the system you will get desense and not really gain anything
but more problems. Also if there are other transmitters near by then you
could also get into other problems you will have to deal with. I am using a
6 cavity duplexer with about 120 db of isolation and an ARR preamp to get
about .2 uv at the input of the duplexer. There are no problems but there
are no other transmitters near by either.
