Neil,
If you get WWV strong enough you can do a decent calibration on an IFR
frequency wise. Having the S model you can use the spectrum analyzer and Bessel
functions to check your deviation calibration occasionally. As far as the rest,
power, distortion and such, you might want to have someone with the correct
instruments do it. I find the frequency and deviation check to be the ones used
most often.
I wish someone could tell me how to accurately calibrate a wattmeter so I
could figure out which of the Wavetek, IFR or Bird is reading the right
wattage.
(they're all different)
PS, I don't always trust the calibration shops, I once had an HP counter come
back reading 1kc off. (Most have hired a new guy that day)
