RG-142 cable will work very well at VHF, since the loss is much less
than at UHF. However, you might consider using RG-400 instead of
RG-142, since RG-400 has a stranded (instead of a solid) center
conductor. Otherwise, the two cables are identical. For more
information on the RG-142 versus RG-400 issue, visit:

We are new at building repeaters. I had built UHF repeaters using RG142
cable to interconnect duplexer to repeater. Now I am building a VHF
repeater, and I need to make the jumper cables to interconnect duplexer
to repeater. The question is: Is RG142 cable good too in VHF systems?
