Yes, they have affected the market substantially, not always in a good way.  There is still two way systems out there but getting rare, mostly public service like Police, Fire and School districts.  I recently had to re-construct a 5 channel trunk system that Nextel thought was theirs, they deconstructed the system and hauled it to their warehouse 180 miles away!

hi, i own a new 2 way radio shop in central america, just wondering, what had happed to the 2 way radio services  in north america about the ptt service of nextel?
my question is:
is nextel ptt service extermining the convencional 2 way radio service?
i wonder if nextel comes to america, what will happen to all small shops.
