If you have a Bird 43, I have machined the aluminum dummy slug by boring
a hole right through and attaching a BNC connector to the face by
tapping for the the correct thread size, then solder a 47 (50) or 51 ohm
resistor to pin and the ground of the connector. Orient the resistor to
lay so it becomes parallel to the center conductor of the pick-up cavity
(slug cavity). Fill the hole with hot glue to hold all of it in place.
You can turn the pick up slug to reduce the coupling if desired.
Works great and doesn't cost hardly anything to build.
