There's an article on that at www.repeater-builder.com on the
Motorola page.

I've heard a few stories third hand - unconfirmed - that getting
the PL decode to work properly is a moire difficult than anything
else (at least one version of the firmware had bugs there), and
that adding a TS32 or TS64 decoder is easier than trying to
upgrade / change the firmware.
