I even thought about getting two 1200 Mcs HTs to be the engin of the repeater, I have see some equipment arround with 1200 in them but thats a long time ago (90s) I do want LOS for two purposes, less chance someone accessing the repeater direct and lack of inter mon as one gets with a 222 and 146 on the same tower. There is one 222 repeater in this area with a 146 repeater as well and both interfear with each other constantly. Also the in / out spacing is wider so having more than one 1200 Mcs system on the same tower would be less chance of having de-sensing. Can one say having two 222 repeaters on the same tower not interfere with each other? My plan is to place the 1200 on Bicketts Knob and do direct to Blacksburg and Williams Mountain in WV with a relay hub there for Charleston. The main purpose is for SKYWARN direct commos to KRLX and KFCX  NWO stations.. By the way,  John, KB8QEQ, is the "voice" of this system, only a few letters from your call.   Interesting.
