If filtering is added, I'd suggest one or two pass cavity filters instead 
of helicals.  Helicals have good selectivity, but at the cost of high 
loss.  Typical G.E. VHF helical resonators have 5-6 dB loss at 2 meters 
(don't know how lossy the Micor helicals are; wonder if anyone has directly 
measured at set?).  A pass cavity OTOH is around 0.5-2 dB depending on the 
loops used.
