We HAD to have at least a 2nd phone license to work on any
transmitters.
And, thanks to Neil, I got my 1st phone and that was converted to the
GROL back a long long time ago. And I had a whole bunch of
certificates from Motorola and other schools mostly on two-way stuff.
Some of the people working on two-way stuff today have absolutly NO
clue what is going on, the FCC should reinstate at least the GROL
requirement. The FCC makes the licensee responsible now, and the
licensees don't have any way to ensure that their radio transmitting
equipment is within specifications. But this subject has been going
on for lots of years.
