Here is a comercial grade repeater 'box' that is "Plug and Play".

Also note the mounting of the radio chassis on the rack pannel, this
is for much better heat disapation. The GM/Radius/Maxtrac radios are 
mounted with the heatsinks up. Remember, heat rises. There is room on 
the back side of the 19" rack pannel for a mobile type duplexer and 
maybe even the power supply.
That one pictured has a 10 amp DuraComm switcher and a Cellwave mobile 
duplexer on the back side.

They cost less than $100, and there is a version that includes a 
CommSpec ID-8, Morse code identifier. about $180,(the ID-8 is $70)
