The 70-050C will cover 6 meters with reprogramming & retuning. They should be an 80 channel 50 watt radio, and you can make a repeater out of them, you will need one for transmit and one for receive.
The first thing to check is to make sure that they have the memory module and the CTCSS board installed. They are programmed with a Midland 70-1000 programmer, e-mail me off list if you need any programmed 73's Andy -------------------------------------------------------------- NC Certified Firefighter III / Instructor II / EMT-A FCC Licensed Technician / Amateur Call NC4AB / Echolink Node 5761 http://www.brinkleyelectronics.com > -----Original Message----- > From: greenfin2002 [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Friday, September 03, 2004 9:46 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: [Repeater-Builder] midland low band > > > hi all > > just came across a pallet of midland lowband radios model no. 70- > 050c. i am told they will tune to 6 meters but has anyone used them > to make a repeater? if so is it worth while to use these radios? > > pat Yahoo!
