Well for what it is worth maxtracs are very inexpensive just turn the power down and add a 12 volt fan on the radios. I have a crossband and a uhf repeater built with these, they are only temporary repeaters but have never failed me or search & rescue, yet the 1225 repeaters do have a kick ass heat sink and if cooled with a fan will last for quite some time, my friend that services a uhf trunked passport system uses 1225 repeaters on many of the sites and has only had to replace a few of the pa's so far.....bob
