I built (my first and only repeater) for the 6-meter 500 KHz split.
I used Mitrek radios and put the repeater on a large broadcast tower, RX at 500 feet and TX at 1000 feet.
I used no duplexers or filters and have excellent results. Running at 70 watts with DB 212 folded dipoles for TX and RX.
Located in Metcalf, GA. 51.7 MHz
The radios are actually mounted on the tower (huge savings in coax, huge pain to work on)
