R12 looks like the high side (voltage divider) 
level injected into the detector ring".  

Resistor R19 looks like part of a precision 
rectifier, used as a tone/bridge match 
detector. The first impression is that it's 
part of the hysteresis or dead band detection. 

The only way to really know if these mods do 
anything regarding speed, would be to measure 
the before and after. One would imagine the 
factory defaults would be pretty darn fast.
