Hi Joe,

Any good repair shop will probably work on anything
they have parts and service information (manual) for.

As you probably know, I'm a Kenwood Dealer and
Authorized Repair Center, but we'll pretty much
work on anything or honestly tell you if it's
not practical or a lost cause.

A lost cause would be the repair of a VHF
Engineering Receiver Strip at the shop service
rate.

Unless a Dealer is moving a lot of radios via
the sales side of the business, Service is still
a big part of the bread and butter at many
smaller operations.

As a service to my walk in customers, I will even
handle getting other brand service work done,
where possible at another brand dealer. A lot
of customers are happy to pay for someone else to
do their "leg work". It all comes down to the
shop rate or the repair quote.

cheers,
skipp
