I'm working on a Yaesu FTR-2410 2m repeater here. I have an SCOM
5K controller attached to it. Everything works fine except for PL
Encode. When I inject the tone into the transmitter at the "Tone In"
lead, the encoded PL tone distorts the repeat audio & controller
telemetry (ID, Courtesy Tone, etc). The PL also has to be at a fairly
high deviation for the receiveing radio to decode it (i.e. the PL
tone has to be audible).
What's the deal? Anyone have any pointers on how I can get this
running properly? I'd really like to finish this project and move on
to my next one, but unfortunately I can't because I can't get the PL
encoder to operate properly. We have co-channel repeaters that can be
heard down here, and having PL decode available to users is a must.
Any help would be appreciated.
