Be careful of these, they can cause RFI in the VHF range. We were working on a noise problem on the 147.06 repeater here in Connecticut a while back and I noticed interference got worse when doing a sensitivity test. The noise proved to be external to the repeater equipment, and it got better when we left the site. It turned out that the screw in energy saver lights were causing noise at the input frequency, but only when the lights were on at the site.
I've noticed in my travels at work that these light replacements have become very popular for outdoor lightning replacement, probably because the light is on all night and it would be a good energy savings device. They also last longer than an incandescent bulb. BUT, they may be the source of interference that has been on your repeater. 73, Joe, K1ike --- Q <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: >I have > since changed all my lamps to energy saving > flourescent screw ins Yahoo!
