John;
         I am working on developing and documenting a more intrusive
connection method which may turn out to be a "best method" however, the
simpler solution would be to take control of the audio to the tx by
connecting directly at the exciter door, and use discriminator or vol hi
for rx audio. CAS /RUS appear as normal on the RX door, and lastly is
Delayed PTT which I think appears on the CG board connector in the RX door
assy.
         The station carrier control timer needs to be disabled, and you
can use the station encode or add your own. Decode can be picked up from RX
mute in the RX door system board too.. or just use a ts-64.
         These are useable, however I am trying to find a better way, as I
would like to use the DSP of the Mastr IIe station to improve audio... in
general I have never been impressed with the audio processing of any
controller added to a GE station as opposed the the factory Audio path....

         There are documented connections for an external controller ( I.E.
community repeater panel, LTR controller etc) for Mastr III, and similarly
they may work on a Mastr IIe as well, I have not specifically looked. Let
me know if you need any specifics which I can provide...
