Hi Mike, The main objection would be the user equipment. Controllers go for around $600 new, to $200 on the surplus market. There are some $1200 Zetrons, but there are also many less expensive ones. Combining 2 M or even 440 is a case by case issue depending on the number of channels, spacing, etc, and can range from interleaving 2 bpbr duplexers, for next to nothing in cost, to hybrids, isolators, and big expensive cavities costing many thousands of dollars, but where the rubber meets the road is for the users to buy an LTR radio.
