Hi Mark:
The software I have,n can mail it to you, do not
have the service manual; but from
Kenwood advice it can not be programed below 450 Mhz, if
anybody has done
something to override the band limit will be very nice to
contact him>>>

Subject: [Repeater-Builder] Kenwood
TKR-830
Well, a couple of months ago, I posted that I was looking
to purchase an Icom IC-FR4000 to replace an ailing MSR2000 that I
"administer" for the local hams.
After long last, I was told by the
vendor that Icom is not currently making the "-2" model (ham split) and
probably will not begin any production in the near future. The best
they could offer was "Icom says it may start production in the second
quarter of 2005". May is the operational word here.
To keep
this long story as short as possible, the "repeater fairy" paid me an early
Christmas visit today, and delivered a Kenwood TKR-830. I haven't had
any opportunity to check what freq it was on, but the courier stated it was
in operation until taken off the air.
An attempt to find anything about
this animal on Kenwood's website was futile, so I ask (hoping for many kind
assists from the list): 1) Does anyone have a manual scanned in
for this machine? If so, can I trouble you for a copy? (I do
have broadband, or will send a blank
disk) 2) Is the programming software
available for any source - even if it's Kenwood? (If so, can I get a
product ID # to order it?) 3) Can I
assume this machine is fairly easily tuned down into the
ham band? 4) Is there anything I
need to watch out for regarding this machine?
Thanks to everyone -
you've all been a big help in the past.
Mark -
