I'll second Coy - AC0Y's response. I built a controller once that was
a few transistors and resistors to manage PTT, COS, PL etc. The Id was a
555 timer set to trigger a $14.00 radio shack voice recorder every 10
minutes. As crude as this may sound, it worked flawlessly for about a year
until I had the time to build a much better 2 port controller with a Basic
Stamp.
