If you use descriminator audio with some controllers,
you can add an audio delay board and forget about
squelch. The only problem might be the dmtf decoder
falsing every so often on no-signal noise. (Depends
on the type of dtmf decoder used).
Not what I prefer or do myself, just a thought
to throw out.
