Good morning All,
I was just sitting here in the shack reading the morning repeater builders posts. I remimber how much many people where bashing the early Maggiore stuff. It was all built with Midland 13-509's, Clegg FM-76's on 220 and Midland 13-500's on two meters. Saying just how bad they are. Some of the same folks are now saying just how great the Midland 13-509's are to make a 220 repeater. WHY IS THAT?
Gee if I was going to build a NEW 220 repeater I would use the new Maggoire R-1 for 222 MHz.
They are NOT 1970 Midlands but new 2005 radio's. If you can't aford a new R-1 you can buy just the borads and build it up your self.
But all the bashing of the early Maggiore stuff and now sing the prase of the the same 13-509's is just to funny for words!
Very best of 73,
Russ, W3CH.
