The TLD8271A is a high VHF receiver for the 132-142 MHz ("L") split. 
The TLD8271B was used in SPECTRA-TAC voting and satellite receivers. 
Only five capacitors need to be changed to make it equivalent to the
TLD8272A receiver for the 142-150.8 MHz ("M") split, making it easy to
convert to the 2m Amateur band.  Fortunately, all of the coils and the
preselector itself are the same for the L and M splits.  Publication
6881026E37 covers this specific receiver, but you may have to buy a
complete manual to get it.  The SPECTRA-TAC manual 6881039E45 is still
in print, and it contains the receiver manual.
