thanks for the comments guys on PL encoding the old midlands. Its been a few years since I messed with them. Seems I remember I did something similar with cap/resistor tapped into it. Will have to dig them back up and see where I was trying to inject it. UHF 440 control/link pairs around here are drying up fast, so I thought I'd reuse these old radios and get some use out of them on 220 MHz. As for main repeater hardware on that band the club is just starting a GE M2 vhf to 220 conversion (w/non-pll exciter).
