Arguh!
I had a long reply typed up with our experiences and how not to use the Comet/Diamond, etc... diplexers for repeater/commercial installs, and YAHOO ate it! In short, use commercial crossband couplers, like the TX/RX crossband couplers. Last I looked they weren't on the TX/RX webside, but here are their numbers: Weatherproof Tower Mount unit: 80-05-07, Base Station Mount: 80-05-06. They are expensive, so beware. I also saw recently that DCI makes, what appears to be a nice unit, for almost half of the TX/RX unit, but with a higher dB loss: http://www.dci.ca/photos_diplexerdualband.htm In our next dual band repeater install, I may experiment, and put a TX/RX weatherproof unit on top, and a dci unit below. The ARRL also had a nice article under 'Product Review' in the December 2004 QST, which if you're an ARRL member you can read online: http://www.arrl.org/members-only/prodrev/pdf/pr0412.pdf Hope this helps. 73, Rob - WV0S www.k0ham.com --- In [email protected], "derek_mcintyre" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Hello Group, > Does anyone have, or know where I can get plans to homebrew a 144/440 > MHz crossband coupler (aka "diplexer") ??
