It is not just the numbers.
Yes 3 DB is a big number but.
The DB-228 has a lot more
capture area then the DB-224.
Twice as much in fact. I bet Russ and
his users are seeing a very large
differences. I am not a Ham so I
can't try it my self but I have
seen the differences that a DB-228
has made on high band public safety
systems. Very good antenna!
But its is not for every one's system.
It is costly, very large and needs a
large tower to install it on. It has
a very high wind load to boot. You
need a large crew to install the darn
thing as well.
