Hi Skipp, it is by the luck of the draw that this repeater project has come together as well as it has for me. I don't even want to look at the cost, that would just scare me to death. I will begin the wiring process this Saturday and see how it goes. For me, it's generally twice as long, a number of interuptions, 7 kids has a way of doing that. Will begin the installation, cross the bridges and look for the dynamite when I get to a block in the road. I appreciate the help. What I think I am going to do as a test is just hook one of the Kenwood's up as the main receiver and see if there is any noticable difference in the audio, that will be an easy task. They may so close that it won't matter much. Will let you know how it turns out. At least I know how the main receiver get's hooked in. My thinking was I had to do a cross into one of the kenwood radios, but not the case, so that should be an easy task.

The GE base repeater control shelf contains an Audio
Squelch Module/Card, which can be outbound from the
shelf and direct wired if you are willing to do the
work. The AS Card will give you the COS/COR logic
and gated de-emph audio from the receiver, plus it
can integrate the sub tone (channel guard) filter
network. The original GE sub tone filter works pretty
well (a nice and deep notch in the sub tone range).
I see the much over looked GE AS Modules on Ebay for
$5 and $10.
I lose track of all the model numbers for the Comm
Spec Gear, but their encoder/decoder module/board
has an available tone filter. Your de-emph network
need only be a resistor and capacitor. Just copy
the values from the AS Card if you like.
The voter doesn't seen to care much (respond to)
about sub tone in or out, but you do want to eventually
strip it out of the audio some place and possibly
re-insert a replacement tone/dpl in the transmitter
if you need it.
Plan on a few hours to hook it up.
Plan on double the hook up time to understand, align
and dial in the final operational levels/values.
