I'm going to push a head with my installation of the SpectraTac unit that I have. I'm going to use the existing Motorola "M" type receivers that are already in place as remote receivers, and install Spectra tac receivers (UHF link receivers) at the main site. These link receivers will be equipped with the stock audio cards, PL decoder cards, and 2175 status encoder cards. When a signal with the proper PL is received from a remote site it will break the status tone and be selected by the comparator and compared with other signals as their being received from other remote sites. The status tone you mite say is a COR to activate the SQM channel cards in the comparator.

By configuring the system this way I can use the existing receivers that are already in place and operating without changing anything at these sites, and their would be no need the keep the link transmitters on 24/7.

**** Those units you pointed out to me on e-bay look like the same units that I spotted in the warehouse here. I think they are a little more then just a comparator, and would require a lot of reworking for our use. That stuff is from the federal government and one of a kind for their use, and considered out dated and no longer supported by Motorola and are software driven. We are better off sticking to the Spectra Tac it's more repairable.
