Added noise will always degrade the S/N.  The question is would it even be 
noticeable given the dominant noise floor on 2 meters.  Here in the LA 
basin it can be at least 3000 K, so an extra 150 K of preamp noise isn't 
going to be too noticeable.

If you can hear a difference between a GaAsFET & a JFET preamp on a 
real-world VHF system, consider yourself lucky: you live in a low-noise 
environment.
