I don't think their server is as dumb as you think it is.
Many ISP's now block spam at the server level by simply refusing the
mail delivery.
I do this on one of my servers, so spam sent to Yahoo lists causes me to
get put in Bounce status because Yahoo sees the error from the mail
server that clearly states "Rejected - Appears to be Spam." as a server
failure.
Their choice.
Perhaps your ISP is doing this also.
Hopefully that's helpful -- and Yahoo's free, you get what you pay for.
