Not quite.  The 5 helical resonators feed a JFET mixer, filtering the 
signals from the RF input.  The other two also feed that mixer but are LO 
filters (the UHF version has 3 - easiest way to tell what band a G.E. radio 
is on if it's missing the model # plate).  There is no amplification at RF 
in a stock Mastr II RX.
