What is the power amplifier capable of? 110 watts? **** Yes, 110watts First thing I'd do is bypass the preamp and see if you can get the thing to duplex. Then, start adding your bells and whistles. ****Ok I have just done that and yes desense is gone, it hears but not as well. A repeater that doesn't desense is better than one that hears well with the transmitter off and goes deaf with it on. Try the cable optimization at the power you intend to run.  Since it's a 110 watt PA and PLL exciter, I suggest about 50 watts, no less. If you need a better duplexer, you need a better duplexer.
