I have to say it was a while ago but apparently no one currently responsible for the system checked into it since they are still operating under the same understanding. Be that as it may I still like what we did with the system with the multiple changeable PL tones and the three different tail beeps. One of the other features was that the PL tone is only transmitted when there is active carrier into the system. This allowed people to set up cross-banding to extend the coverage especially when you went to the basement during one of the many tornados that has gone through the area over the years. As soon as someone unkeyed and the carrier drops the PL stops being sent even though the repeater hang time had not expired. This allows someone to get back into the repeater via cross band without waiting for the hang time to expire as long as you programmed the PL tones into your cross band rig.
